Tuition at 黑料专区 covers all co-curricular activities, student books, field trips, technology, supplies, facilities and lunch (for Grades K 鈥� 12). Our听Extended Day听program听for students in Early Childhood through Grade 8 entails separate registration and additional fees.

The 黑料专区 mission statement emphasizes the school鈥檚 commitment to educate each child in a diverse community. Our financial aid program supports that mission by striving to ensure socioeconomic diversity within our student population. We work diligently to make our school accessible to as many families of varying economic backgrounds as possible.

Financial Aid is available for students from the 2s through Grade 12 and is granted on the basis of need and the availability of funds. Admissions decisions and financial aid decisions are made independently. Due to limited funds, an admissions acceptance does not guarantee a grant offer even if need is demonstrated

Typically, one quarter of our students receive approximately $6,000,000 in financial aid grants. Funding for financial aid grants comes from the school鈥檚 operating budget and charitable gifts. Brooklyn Friends gives priority consideration to children of Quaker families, BFS colleagues, alumni/ae, and siblings. Financial aid is not guaranteed even for members of these priority groups.

All financial aid applications are submitted to and processed by , an independent organization that supports our Financial Aid Committee.

黑料专区 has an arrangement with A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. to provide a partial refund of tuition should the student need to withdraw from school after the school year has started.

The primary factors in determining financial aid awards include, but are not limited to:

• net income
• assets (home equity, property, savings, investments, etc.)
• debts (home mortgages, college loans, etc)
• the number of dependents
• the number of children who attend tuition-charging schools

Consideration is given to parents who are nearing retirement age, families who have young children or who are financially responsible for elderly family members, and other factors that can affect a family鈥檚 financial security. If all children are of school age and one parent does not work by choice, the financial aid committee, through Clarity, will consider the earning potential of that parent. The financial circumstances of all parents are considered when determining a grant, whether parents are custodial parents or not.

Step 1: Check the financial aid box on your admissions application (for new applicants).

Step 2: Complete the online process at . All required documents must be submitted by uploading directly to , not BFS. For help with uploading documents or sending documents, please contact .

Step 3: All parents, regardless of custodial, marital, and other legal agreements, are required to submit an online application.

Step 4: Required documents:

• 2024 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ (will be automatically drawn by Clarity from the IRS for families who meet the application deadline)
• All other federal tax schedules that were filed including business and partnership schedules
• Recent paystubs
• 2024 W2 Form
• 2025 W2 Form (when available)
• If needed, an explanation of any family situation you felt was too unique to be captured by the online application

Step 5: Make sure that your child鈥檚 name is on all forms, payments, and correspondence with the school and .

Step 6: Any applications that are not in good standing by their deadline may not be considered for an award. The deadline for returning families is December 5, 2025 The deadline for prospective families is January 8, 2026. All financial aid forms and supporting materials need to be submitted well before the deadlines to allow time for auditing before your application will be marked in good standing.

Families will be notified of their financial aid award prior to the due date for signing the enrollment contract. 听If the grant offered makes it impossible for you to enroll or if you believe your grant is not indicative of your family鈥檚 need, please contact the Director of Enrollment Management. If your family鈥檚 financial circumstances have changed since you filed your application (job loss, etc.), please send an email directly to the Director of Enrollment Management to notify the school of your change in circumstances. 听A family may only appeal once. 听If the timing of your appeal prevents the Financial Aid Committee from responding before your contract deadline, you are still required to submit your contract and deposit by the deadline in order to secure your child鈥檚 enrollment.

If you are a member of the New York Quarterly Meeting, you may also apply for aid through the New York Quarterly Education Fund. 听Priority is given to students who are attending Quaker schools. Contact the Quarter for more details.
