Amina’s Voice Author Hena Khan Visits with BFS Students
The BFS Lower School and Middle School Library鈥檚 first special guest of the school year is Hena Khan, author of 础尘颈苍补鈥檚 Voice.聽 Ms. Khan will be meeting with fourth, fifth and sixth grade students on Monday, Nov. 6 to talk about her background and writing process.聽聽础尘颈苍补鈥檚 Voice is one of the books on BFS鈥檚 Mock Newbery Medal list, and a student favorite.
础尘颈苍补鈥檚 Voice tells the story of a Pakistani-American girl who is navigating and juggling aspects of her identity within her family and within her middle school. 聽Through 础尘颈苍补鈥檚 relatable voice, Khan beautifully and sensitively addresses issues of inclusion, identity, family, friendship, and Islamophobia for young readers.

Amina has never been comfortable in the spotlight. She is happy just hanging out with her best friend, Soojin. Except now that 蝉丑别鈥檚 in middle school everything feels different.
