After months of intensive planning by a dynamic group of volunteers, the 17th annual Black History Month Celebration has arrived. This year’s theme is聽Brooklyn Activism.Talking about activism and what makes someone an activist helps children think about how changes happen in a community. Through a聽variety of workshops ranging from Food Justice, Animal Rights,聽Craft Activism, Homeless Advocacy and聽Artistic聽Activism,聽students will be inspired to make a statement, build a community, or save the world.

Events continue on聽Friday, Feb. 5聽with workshops for students from聽3:30pm聽– 5:30pm,聽a community dinner聽补迟听5:30 pm,聽a program聽featuring performances by BFS聽students at7pm, and a Dance Party 补迟听8pm. All events take place at Pearl Street, and we expect a wonderful turnout.
