The Office of Service Learning & Civic Engagement and PAT Service Learning Committee are excited to host a collaborative art and education experience to support听Puerto听Rico听entitled: Solidarity in the Skies: Creativity Activity & Service (C.A.S.) with听Puerto听Rico.

Time:听2:00-5:00pm
Location: Lawrence Street Caf茅
Students, families, and faculty/staff of all ages are invited to participate in BFS parent Carolina Della Valle’s, an initiative to paint cloudscapes and sell them to raise money for, our partner organization in听Puerto听Rico. Carolina’s project was featured in听听of the Life (starting at听2:30).听
In addition, we are delighted to feature the voices of BFS parents听Salom茅 Galib, Bill Weir, Cathie Mahon,听and BFS student听Bella Gonzalez, as well as historian Jorge Silva-Puras听who have been engaged in work around听Puerto听Rico. They will be speaking as part of a Teach-In session on the current state of the island. This will be held concurrently from听3-4:30pm.
Students and family members of all ages will come together at Lawrence Street to:
- Create cloudscape paintings in the Caf茅
- Read children’s books about听Puerto听Rico听in the Library
- Participate in the Teach-In session in the Conference Room

Yesterday meant so much! 听I loved seeing the students鈥� passion for painting blue skies, no matter what age! 听I collected over 100 paintings and raised almost $700 [for Para La Naturaleza]! Not bad for a few hours! I鈥檝e posted about it on my . The student paintings will be shown and available for purchase next weekend at as well.”
